Walt Whitman High School, Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School and Walter Johnson High School are the community high schools. Part of the Montgomery County Public School System, the schools are ranked by Newsweek as one of the best public schools in the United States in 2006. Parents and students alike enthusiastically endorse the curriculum, after school activities and sense of community. Graduates of the 1,600 student population matriculate to the top 25 colleges in the United States each year, aided by the International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement courses offered by the school.
